Swerwer's Rus (Wanderer's rest) is a quaint cottage in Gansbaai caravan park, 80meters from the sea, with stunning views over Gansbaai harbour and the sea.
Separate indoor braai room.
Out of season: R400 per day December 2013: R800 per day - maximum 4 people.
One set of linen is supplied for each bed
There is a R150 cash cleaning fee payable
The accommodation is not serviced
A DSTV dish and decoder available - bring own smartcard
A 50% deposit is payable in advance, the balance is due 5 working days before date of occupation.
Things to do in and around Gansbaai
Visit the lighthouse at Danger Point, explore the rock pools or at high tide, swim in the tidal pool just eight minutes' walk from the house. Dads can enjoy fishing off the rocks along the large spread of coastline in the area or take chartered fishing trips at Kleinbaai. If you're feeling adventurous, explore the Klipgat Caves at De Kelders or go shark cage diving in Kleinbaai. For the more leisurely guests, watch whales close up from the rocks or from a boat at Kleinbaai during whale season.
In the month of April, guests can enjoy the very popular annual Crayfish Derby, right here in Gansbaai, or in October, take the Art Route and view fine art as well as mingle with the artists at Baardskeerdersbos, located close by. In June come and enjoy the Festival of Geese or the Fees van die Ganse and in December eat scrumptious fish at the annual Geelbek Derby.
Quad bike trails are available at Franskraal just a short distance away, and a couple of minute’s drive from the house you can take the children to visit the Doll Museum or treat the whole family to a riverboat cruise on the Klein River at Stanford.
